The best golfers of 20 countries will appear on the golf field of the Moscow Country Club on August 16-19, 2018. This year's tournament, which has a prize fund of $500,000, is supported by the VTB Bank (PJSC).
The tournament involves winners of European Tournament stages and Ryder Cup participants – Ronan Rafferty of Ireland, Barry Lane of the UK, Jarmo Sandelin of Sweden, and other golf stars.
The opening ceremony of the VTB Russian Open Golf Championship (Senior) and the 23rd International Charity Golf Tournament, in which amateurs will team up with professionals, champions and winners of national and world cups, will take place on August 16. Traditionally, the money raised in the charity tournament will be donated to funds helping children. Ronan Rafferty will give a master class for juniors on the opening day.
The tournament will be held on August 17-19, and the award ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 19.
Guests of the tournament are invited to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Moscow Country Club, 120 hectares of a gated territory accommodating a five-star hotel, a lakeshore beach, a mini golf, a zoo, a large sports complex with an indoor pool, gyms, tennis and badminton courts, a tanning salon, and saunas. Young guests of the tournament will be invited to the daily animation program, and children younger than six can visit the children's club for free.
Guests can use services of the country club, such as bicycle and velomobile rentals, the gym, table tennis, and billiards for an extra fee.
Golf fans are invited to the Klyushka restaurant of the golf club and the Klyushkin Plyazh café on the lakeshore; both of them are part of the Ginza Holding. Klyushka offers a broad menu of grilled and barbequed dishes, smoked meat and fish, homemade pickle products, and other traditional countryside food. Klyushkin Plyazh is a Mediterranean café with a wide selection of sea-food salads and pastas. The menus of both restaurants were designed by Barashka restaurant brand chef Bakhtiyar Aliyev.

The Russia Open tournament was founded in 1993. The first tournament was held at the Moscow Country Club.
This is the third time the club will host the Senior stage of the European Tournament (the previous events took place in 2013 and 2014).
The Moscow Country Club is a winner of the international 2017 World Golf Award held by the authoritative World Travel Awards. The country club was declared the best golf hotel in Russia.
This year the Moscow Country Club runs for the World Golf Award in two nominations: the Best Golf Hotel and the Best Golf Field.
