17.04.2018

A conference devoted to the project for the establishment in Moscow of the Medical Center of Russian-Japanese Friendship was held in the Russian embassy to Japan on April 17.

Russian and Japanese experts have already examined in detail various aspects of this project.

The project was developed by the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (GlapUpDK under the MFA of Russia) in cooperation with the Japanese partners. The project was presented by GlavUpDK Head Alexey Izotov.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Japan Mikhail Yu. Galuzin, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and other ministries and departments of Japan, as well as potential project participants from the Japanese side - about 100 executives and top managers of more than 50 trading houses, manufacturing companies and distributors of medical equipment, clinics, etc., attended the event.

Galuzin emphasized in his speech that “this project has become possible thanks to the agreements reached at the highest level between the Russian and Japanese leaders, and it fully meets the interests of bilateral relations.”

Alexey Izotov delivered a detailed report at the conference. He said, in particular, that “the project is aimed at the development of humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Japan in the sphere of medicine.” According to Izotov, “The new medical center furnished with state-of-the-art Japanese technology and equipment will be created on the base of Medincenter – an affiliate of GlavUpDK. The center will provide a wide range of high-quality medical services to Russians and representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations and correspondent offices accredited in the Russian Federation.”

The project envisages the construction near the Dobryninskaya metro station in Moscow of a building with the total area over 22 thousand square meters that will be integrated with the existing clinical and diagnostic center into a single complex.

The “lean polyclinic” principle underlies the project for making all the business processes more efficient by reducing the time of the services provision and improving their quality.

The Japanese participants in the conference (Shiskan Board Chairman Yu.Yamomoto and others) expressed the view that joint implementation of such a humanitarian, non-politicized project in Moscow would undoubtedly become a noticeable positive signal of bringing Russian-Japanese relations to a new qualitative level both for the Russian general public and for the Japanese people.

A program of bilateral negotiations of the GlavUpDK delegation with the project potential participants is planned in the coming days on the results of the conference that aroused a keen interest of the Japanese participants.
