Students of Chicherin Family and Children Support Center to get an ice rink as a gift from GlavUpDK

28.06.2017

For over 23 years GlavUpDK under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia has provided annual support to the Chicherin Family and Children Support Center of the Karaul village, Inzhavinsky district of the Tambov region.

The orphanage has been chosen as it is named after the first Soviet Foreign Commissar Georgy Chicherin and is located in the estate Karaul which belonged to the Chicherin family before the October Revolution – the future famous diplomat was born and spent his childhood here.

GlavUpDK supports the students of the Center, annually allocating funds for the vital necessities. So, this year the money will go to the construction of an ice rink.
The administration and students of the Center have sent the following thank you letter addressed to GlavUpDK Chief Alexey Izotov.
“The team and students of the Center warmly thank the MFA of Russia and GlavUpDK for financial and humanitarian aid and their care.
Thanks to the support of GlavUpDK we have an opportunity to constantly improve material and technical resources, to create good conditions for the accommodation of disadvantaged children.
Thus, GlavUpDK aid went to the overhaul of the roof and sanitary systems of cold and hot water supply and sewerage; we also purchased a GAZelle vehicle to transport children; have replaced all windows in the building where children live; overhauled the gym and the kitchen-dining room including the replacement of the equipment; overhauled the evacuation system of the 1 and 2 floors; repaired the computer class and the central staircase. In 2012 four apartments where students live were renovated, with the replacement of all furniture. Satellite television has been installed.
In 2013, GlavUpDK with co-funding provided by the Tambov region administration added to the building a ventilated facade made of porcelain tile with the wall heating systems.
In 2015-2016, GlavUpDK allocated funds to the overall development of the Center territories: lawns, paving slabs, sports playground with rubber covering, shadow canopy and workout machines were installed. The sports and game zone, the facilities block have been fenced off with a hi-tech fence, and the asphalt pavement has been renovated.
In 2017 funds for the construction of an ice rink foundation were allocated.
GlavUpDK annually allocates additional resources for purchasing fuel and lubricants. Besides, in 2011 it presented us with two automobiles and various household appliances.
Every year, GlavUpDK staff members come to the orphanage, bring gifts to children, ask what they need and interact with them. There is a good tradition of GlavUpDK employees taking part in the “Letter to Father Frost” campaign when on the New Year eve students of the Center write letters to Father Frost and the employees make their dreams come true.

Our gratitude is too big to be expressed by words and we are sure that kindness and generosity that you share with the children will make them believe in good things.

God bless you!”
