Russia Day in the Cultural Center of GlavUpDK

25.06.2013

On June 11, 2013, a solemn reception was held in the CulturalCenter of GlavUpDK devoted to the Russia Day. The guests, who included the heads of diplomatic missions and Russian officials, were offered an extensive program designed to allow the foreign citizens to better and deeper understand the country they stay in.

In his welcoming speech, the director of GlavUpDK V.I. Pashko noted, that on the eve of the Russia Day “we honor our country with millennia of heroic history and unique, rich cultural heritage, a country that in the great area from Baltic Sea to Pacific Ocean has united many territories and nations residing there”.

The torch was taken up by the special guests – national artist of Russia Aleksandr Gradsky and honored artist of Russia Sergei Zhilin, who presented the artists taken fancy of by the Russians due to their participation in the popular project of the First Channel “Voice”: Pavel Pushkin, Polina Zizak and Metodie Bujor. The audience was presented a diverse repertoire, which included opera, variety and jazz genres. Performances of both well-known masters and new talents were appreciated by the audience, whose ovations, of course, could not let the artists leave without encore.

The reception ended with a touching surprise – each guest could send a dove into Moscow sky, a symbol of peace and understanding between nations.
