The Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory hosted a classical music concert dedicated to Diplomats' Day, which is celebrated on February 10. The event was organized by the international musical project “Russian Muses to the World!” sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, sent greetings to the guests and participants of the concert. “The role of cultural diplomacy in the formation of a positive, unifying interstate agenda, strengthening friendship, trust and mutual understanding between peoples can hardly be overestimated. In this regard, it is emblematic that today's musical evening is dedicated to the work of the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky. His rich legacy is not only national, but also global,” reads the greeting. The Minister also noted that “the concert is intended to give a special flavor to the celebration of the Diplomats’ Day, giving the audience an incredible sense of belonging to the high musical art.”

GlavUpDK under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia actively supported the organizers of the event by inviting heads and employees of diplomatic missions, members of the International Women's Club, which unites spouses of ambassadors, diplomats and foreign businessmen working in Russia.

The audience was presented with a rare and unique musical program — Tchaikovsky's ultimate 1847 edition of Piano Concertos No.1 and No.2. These greatest pieces are most often performed by the version of pianist and conductor Alexander Siloti, and not as the author intended.

The concert was performed by the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra directed by Pavel Kogan under the baton of conductor Felix Korobov, Music Director of the Chamber Orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory. The solo part was performed by pianist Nikita Galaktionov.

The evening was hosted by Denis von Meck, a direct descendant of the von Meck, the Tchaikovsky, Davydov families, the founder of the Nadezhda von Meck International Charitable Foundation, who opened many interesting pages from the life of the great Russian composer.

The concert was a great success, leaving the audience with an unforgettable impression from the meeting with the brilliant music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
