New Russia.Heritage issue comes to mark National Unity Day
GlavUpDK presents the 4th issue of its Russia.Heritage Magazine uniting keepers and connoisseurs of the richest cultural and historical heritage of our country.
It is timed to coincide with National Unity Day, an important holiday for every Russian, which is rooted in the unity of our multinational society and the respectful attitude toward our heritage.
It is a vibrant picturesque panorama of the cultural development in our country. At its heart is the city of Omsk, a major cultural and scientific hub of Siberia that has been named the Cultural Capital of Russia for 2026. The city’s rich history and traditions are highlighted by its residents, cultural figures and journalists.
The issue will open with a welcome from Vyacheslav Fatin, Head of GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia; Sergey Shitkov, Acting Rector of the Diplomatic Academy, will discuss cultural diplomacy, Sergei Diaghilev and love for the Homeland. Readers will also be able to learn about Rossotrudnichestvo projects aimed at strengthening humanitarian ties and promoting a positive image of Russia across the globe.
As usual, architecture is in focus, too, as some of the articles are devoted to GlavUpDK’s restoration projects and other significant achievements of the year, including those at the Novgorod Museum-Reserve, which celebrates its 160th anniversary. Meanwhile, the story about the Mobile Schools of Restoration will discuss how to teach the next generation of professionals.
In addition, the pages of this issue will take readers to Krasnoyarsk, the home to Surikov Museum-Estate, which is now growing into the Surikov Center, a new cultural landmark of the city.
