GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia held a reception for heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Russia at its affiliate, the Moscow Country Club, on Russia Day, June 12.

Ambassadors of about 40 countries and senior officers of the Russian Foreign Ministry attended the event.

Russia Day signifies the unity and solidarity of peoples of our great multinational country, its glorious history and vast spiritual legacy, so GlavUpDK customized its festive program to give a better and more profound idea of Russia and its original culture to the guests.

The celebrations started with a presentation of art photographer Vladimir Chikin’s project titled ‘Philosophy of Harmony. Ballet and the City’. The guests had an opportunity to see the exhibition, which had travelled around half of the world, and to participate in a photo session with the project stars, ballerinas.

“Russia is a country rich in land, resources and, also, talented people. Works by Vladimir Chikin symbolize the enormous cultural potential of Russia, an obvious gem of which is ballet. Everyone, irrespective of age, nationality or religion, is enchanted by it. I think it would not be an exaggeration to say that ballet unites the world and paves the way to dialogue between people,” GlavUpDK Head Alexey Izotov said in his opening remarks.

Izotov told reporters it was extremely important for GlavUpDK to make Russia something bigger than ‘a mere place of stay’ or work for members of the diplomatic corps.

Reception guests noted that GlavUpDK was beyond politics and each of its events symbolized friendship, unity and constructive dialogue between people from various countries.

The celebrations continued with remarkable performances of the Russian Cossack Choir and the Voronezh Girls Ensemble, in addition to the mandatory attribute of Russian hospitality – traditional cuisine.
