International Women’s Club celebrates 40th anniversary

16.03.2018

The International Women’s Club (IWC) has celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Cultural Center of GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia.

Founded in Moscow in 1978, the International Women’s Club is a non-political non-profit organization promoting friendship and cultural relations between people of various countries and implementing charity programs.

The Club President and spouse of the Ambassador of the Republic of Bangladesh, Mrs. Gopa Chokroborti, opened the festive meeting.

She congratulated the audience on International Women’s Day and indicated that their meeting and steady operation of the Club would have been impossible without GlavUpDK’s hospitality. GlavUpDK actively supported the establishment of the organization and continued to render comprehensive practical assistance to the Club throughout its history. She also said special thanks to the old friends of the Club – Director of the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps’ Protocol and Public Relations Office Larisa Boldyreva, and Cultural Center Head Valeria Pavlovskaya – for their continuous support and cooperation.

The IWC unites over 400 representatives of 110 countries. Most of them are spouses of heads of diplomatic missions, diplomats, and businessmen, and female ambassadors. Their activity is based on the principles of cooperation, peace, and neighborliness.

The Cultural Center invited the guests to a handicraft exhibition and fair, and treated them to dishes of national cuisine.
