Honduras Embassy was opened in Moscow

For the first time since building diplomatic relations between our countries in 1990, an embassy of Honduras was set up in the Russian capital.

Opening of the diplomatic mission took place on October 14, 2013 in the framework of the first, since the establishment of bilateral relations, official visit to Moscow of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Honduras Mireya Agüero de Corrales, who was the lead of delegation including the heads of the ministry of finance, planning and foreign trade, as well as business representatives.

When opening the “Honduras House” located in the office and residential block “Dobrynya” of GlavUpDK, the minister has spoke in praise of the conditions ensured by the Russian party for functioning of the new embassy, which allow to write a new chapter in the history of development of Russian-Honduran relations.

The ceremony was attended by the director of the Latin-American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia A.V. Schetinin, deputy director of GlavUpDK V.V. Kuznetsov, heads of the diplomatic missions of the states of Central America and the Caribbean, representatives of the public and mass media.

Many wishes of success were made to the part-time ambassador of the Republic of Honduras to Russia Eleanor Ortez Williams, who will now need to lead two diplomatic missions – in Moscow and in Paris.
