GlavUpDK is a five-time award winner of the contest of the Government of Moscow “Moscow Restoration 2013”!
GlavUpDK took part in the contest of the Government of Moscow for the best project regarding preservation and popularization of the cultural heritage structures “Moscow Restoration” approved by the decree of the Government of Moscow dated August 16, 2012 No. 441-RP, which was held by the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow for the third time and which ended on December 7, 2013 with an impressive success.
The main goals of the contest are identifying the cultural heritage sites (architectural, historical, cultural, archeological and other monuments), where the restoration work was performed that allows their best preservation, revival and development of traditions of the Moscow school of restoration, improvement of the architectural image of Moscow and enhancing the public interest in studying the historical and cultural heritage sites of the city, as well as popularization of the historical and cultural monuments.
Traditionally, the contest participants were restoration and design workshops, engineering and production organizations, owners and users of the cultural heritage sites of Moscow, repair and restoration work at which was accomplished during the outgoing year.
This year, the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow has received 71 applications for participation in this prestigious contest, of which 54 were initially selected. Of them, 31 cultural heritage sites were referred to the following categories: “City Mansions”, “Civil Architecture Sites”, “Civil and Transport Architecture Sites”, “Religious Architecture Sites”, “Monument Art Sites”, “Archeological Heritage Sites”, “Preservation of the Historical Environment of the Cultural Heritage Sites”.
The obvious achievement of the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation was winning with five cultural heritage sites in the following areas: “City Mansions” and “Civil Architecture Sites” in the category “Best Organization of Repair and Restoration Work”.
In the “City Mansions” area, the Main Department was awarded prizes for three sites: estate at Kropotkinsky lane, 13, bld. 1, 2, 3 (“Derozhinskaya’s Mansion at Shtatny lane with auxiliary building and fence, 1901, Architect: F.O. Schekhtel”) used as the residence of the ambassador of Australia, for the mansion at Klebny lane, 28, bld 1 (“XIX-XX century city mansion, theater worker A.N. Verstovsky”, where the embassy of the Republic of Iceland is located, and for the estate at Malyi Kislovsky lane, 5A/8, bld. 1, 2, 3, 4 (“City mansion of I.G. Naumov – A.S. Olenina, V.V. Dumnov, XVIII-XIX centuries”) recently provided for arranging the residence of the ambassador of the Swiss Confederation.
In the area of “Civil Architecture Sites”, the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation was awarded for two sites: Mansurovsky lane, 4, bld. 1 (“Tenement building of P.V. Loskov, 1906, artchitect: A.U. Zelenko”), where the embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic is located, and at Bolshaya Pirogovskaya str., 13 (“N.S. Mazurin asylum building, 1895, architect: I.A. Ivanov-Schits”), where the embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is located.
It is good to note that in the area of “City Mansions” in the category “Best restoration/adaptation project”, the winner was the chief architect of the project of restoration and adaptation of the estate at Kropotkinsky lane, 13, bld. 1, 2, 3 E.G. Kokorev, in the category of “High quality of repair and restoration work” – “TN-Group” LLC for the mansion at Klebny lane, 28, bld 1, and in the area of “Civil Architecture Sites” in the category “High quality of repair and restoration work” – “Stroyservis No. 5” JSC for the building located at Bolshaya Pirogovskaya str., 13.
In his speech on December 7 at the ceremonial meeting in the White Hall of the Government of Moscow (Tverskaya str., 13) dedicated to awarding diplomas to the winners, the Mayor of Moscow S.S. Sobyanin told: “Congratulations on winning the contest! Congratulations to all who took part in it! Regardless, whether they won or not, it is a victory for all of us, a victory for Moscow, a victory for the historical heritage of our country”.
At the award ceremony held in the Large Conference Hall of the Government of Moscow (Novy Arbat str., 36/9), Deputy Mayor of Moscow for city-planning policy and development in the Government of Moscow M.S. Khusnullin and the Minister of the Government of Moscow, head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow A.V. Kibovsky awarded five prizes of the Government of Moscow to the director of the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation V.I. Pashko depicting the Memorial Arch for winning the “Moscow Restoration 2013” contest. The event was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions of Australia, Vietnam, Iceland, Syria, and the representative of the embassy of Switzerland.
