As of today the festival is the biggest sports cinematographic contest in the Eastern Europe and the CIS countries headed by the legendary figure skater, the State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina. The contest program will be judged by the competent jury headed by the People’s Artist of Russia and the permanent Chairman of the Moscow Filmmakers’ Union Eugeny Gerasimov. Together with him the nominees’ works will be judged by Angelica Averkova (Republic of Belarus), Lawrence Grant (USA), Stephen Amadio (Italy) and Robert Tutak (USA). More than 70 feature and documentary films were selected to participate in the festival, presented by participants from 18 countries of the world and many Russian regions. Films about sports, sportsmen, coaches and great victories are presented to the international contest jury. The international contest jury will decide winners in six nominations: the best subject; the best hero; strong in spirit; the best direction; the best documentary film and the best feature film. The festival opening will be held in the Moscow Country Club (Nakhabino) cinema hall at 03:00 PM on April 2 by presenting live-action film «Siv», jointly produced by Great Britain and Spain, the story about the most celebrated golfer of Europe Severiano Ballesteros. The film will be presented by the producer Stephen Evans – a winner of many prestigious cinematographic awards including two Oscars, the award of the British cinema academy and the Golden Globe award. Irina Rodnina, the Olympic winner, Boris Rasskazov, the Head of Krasnogorsky District, Stanislav Tomsky, the General Producer, and Eugeny Gerasimov, the President of the Jury, will speak at the Opening Ceremony. Among the invited guests are Svetlana Zhurova, Victor Khristenko and the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in the Russian Federation Mister José Ignacio Carbajal Gárate.
