Open All-Russian Creative Competition "Architecture of Diplomacy"

The Main Production and Commercial Directorate for Service to the Diplomatic Corps under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (GlavUpDK under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia) holds the Open All-Russian Creative Competition "Architecture of Diplomacy" among young artists from 18 to 35 years old. The competition is supported by the Union of Artists of Russia, the Union of Architects of Russia, the All-Russian Centre for Development of Artistic Creativity and Humanitarian Technologies, as well as the Russian Union of Restorers.

The jury includes Oksana Goncharova, director of the All-Russian Center for the Development of Artistic Creativity and Humanitarian Technologies, Pavel Gusev, editor-in-chief of Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper, Maria Zakharova, director of Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Andrey Kovalchuk, chairman of the Russian Artists Union, Sergey Kulikov, chief architect of the Central Scientific-Restoration Design Studios, acting Andrey Kovalchukov, Head of the Department of Painting and Restoration of the Stieglitz St. Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy; Vyacheslav Fatin, Acting Head of the Main Department of the MFA of Russia; Zurab Tsereteli, Director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art; Dmitry Shvidkovsky, Rector of the Moscow Architectural Institute; and Nikolay Shumakov, President of the Russian Union of Architects.

The competition is aimed at realising the creative potential of young and emerging artists. It will become a platform for attracting public attention to the historical and cultural aspects of the diplomatic service, introducing the names of young Russian artists.

Entries are open for works in any painting or drawing technique, based on objects of the GlavUpDK, among them unique Moscow mansions, recognised masterpieces of world architecture, with priority given to diplomatic representations.

The contest is open to professional and amateur artists, students of secondary professional and higher education institutions of any year of study - undergraduate, specialist and graduate, students of colleges and other creative courses and schools.

In order to take part in the competition, an application must be submitted to pressa@updk.ru by 16 July.

Entries will be accepted from July 1 to August 15.

Winners will be selected between 16 August and 1 September.
