On 28 August, 2014, the team of GlavUpDK received a Letter of Gratitude of the Mayor of Moscow for significant contribution to preservation of cultural heritage sites located in Moscow.

Mayor of Moscow Mr. Sobyanin awarded the Letter of Gratitude to Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during mutual visit to one of unique historic and architectural monuments of the capital renovated by GlavUpDK – the manor of Suvorovs' located at the following address: M.Nikitskaya street 13.

During the visit, mayor of Moscow Mr. Sobyanin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov were accompanied by the head of GlavUpDK Mr. Pashko and Minister of the Government of Moscow, head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow Mr. Kibovskiy.

Speaking at the ceremony of awarding the high honor, mayor of Moscow Mr. Sobyanin emphasized that GlavUpDK is one of the largest and most responsible asset holder of cultural heritage sites in the capital, and due to its efforts historical appearance has been restored to a number of inestimable monuments of architecture during the recent years.

For his part, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed satisfaction with development of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, GlavUpDK and Government of Moscow, including the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow in preservation of historic monuments. Having pointed out the uniqueness of the building on Malaya Nikitskaya Street the foundation of which was laid by the father of A.V. Suvorov in 1768 and which had been repeatedly reconstructed, Mr. Lavrov highlighted that currently the mansion was recreated in the form in which it should exist in Moscow. Mr. Lavrov also reminded the audience that for its efforts in restoration of historic buildings GlavUpDK received numerous awards of Moscow Restoration contest conducted by the Government of Moscow, and expressed confidence that these efforts would be implemented.

The head of GlavUpDK Mr. Pashko stated that the Main Administration owned 113 buildings that constitute objects of cultural heritage, most of which house embassies of foreign countries. In this context, the Main Administration constantly strives to solve a double task: to preserve in proper condition the monuments of history and architecture ensuring, at the same time, proper living and working accommodations for foreign diplomats according to their status in the capital of the Russian Federation. Mr. Pashko expressed profound gratitude to Mayor of Moscow Mr. Sobyanin for the high honor and underlined that GlavUpDK maintains and operates historic objects in strict compliance with the requirements of cultural heritage protection laws in close collaboration with the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow.

In recognition of efforts of the Government of Moscow aimed at restoration of historic appearance to metropolitan monuments, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov presented mayor of Moscow Mr. Sobyanin with painting by artist V.E.Cherney with a view of Pyatnitskaya Street.
