The Culture Ministry of the Moscow region has named the best tourism industry enterprise of 2018. The Moscow Country Club, an affiliate of GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia, won in the Country Hotel of the Year nomination.
The tourism industry contest of the Moscow region has been an annual event since 2004. Winners are traditionally named in ten nominations, i.e. the Country Hotel of the Year, the City Hotel of the Year, the Mini-Hotel of the Year, the Eco-Hotel of the Year, the SPA Hotel of the Year, the Skiing Hotel of the Year, the Business Hotel of the Year, the Vacation Hotel of the Year, the Tour Operator of the Year, and the Tour Agent of the Year. The jury is comprised of representatives of the government and municipalities of the Moscow region, heads of leading higher education establishments of the tourism industry, tourism industry majors, and civil associations, as well as members of the expert community. The title of the contest laureate recognizes the winner’s merits and serves as a prestigious professional award won in the fierce competition, given that every fifth hotel in the country is located in the Moscow region.
Victorious contestants must meet tough criteria. The aspirants are judged by financial and economic effectiveness, service quality, and interaction with clients, yet experts are also interested in social programs of hotels. For instance, the Moscow Country Club surpassed rivals in its nomination by such parameters as the hotel condition, technical equipment, workforce skills, comfort, and organization of vacation, sport, and health services.
Representatives of the hotel and other contest laureates will be presented with honorary awards at the ceremony, which will take place at the New Jerusalem Museum and Exhibition Center in the Moscow region on September 27.
Please note that this is the second major award won by the Moscow Country Club lately. The affiliate of GlavUpDK has also won the title of Russia’s best golf hotel in the prestigious World Golf Award 2017 of the authoritative World Travel Awards. This year the Moscow Country Club has again been nominated for the World Golf Awards and has every reason to believe it will remain victorious.
