Traditional reception for consul-generals and heads of consular services of embassies accredited in Moscow held in the Reception House of the Russian Foreign Ministry

On December 4, 2014, the Reception House of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Spiridonovka hosted a reception for consul-generals and heads of consular departments of embassies accredited in Moscow. The function traditionally was organized on the New Year's Eve by the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry and GlavUpDK and gathered representatives of more than 90 countries. The tone of the evening was set by the festive decoration of the anteroom of in the Morozov mansion with a marvelous Christmas tree, while the enchanting harp of the Espressivo duet created a festive mood for the guests of the evening.

Mr. Ivanov, Director of the Consular Department, welcomed all attendees of the reception and thanked consular employees for their sizable contribution to the development of cross-country contacts and strengthening of friendship between Russia and their respective countries and pointed out that during the previous year representatives of the consular corps had done a great job that would further promote the rapprochement of nations, facilitate contacts between people, and help to develop economic, academic and cultural ties. Mr. Ivanov wished the consuls a happy New Year, health and happiness, as well as peace, well-being and prosperity to their countries.

In his New Year's compliments, Mr. Pashko, head of GlavUpDK underlined that the Main Administration always strives to do its best to ensure effective operation of the consular corps by delivering a wide range of services including lease of office and residential premises, medical care, leisure and sports, etc.

Mr. Cheryemin, Minister of the Moscow City Government and head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow, addressed the heads of consular departments on behalf of the Mayor of Moscow. He said that the Moscow City Government regards diplomats and consuls as Muscovites who need maximum comfort and safety in their everyday life and work. In view of the coming New Year and Christmas, the Minister wished the guests success in their hard work.

Volnitsa art-trio delivered a musical performance for the guests of the reception.
