On February 25, the House of Reception of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the 6th meeting of the literature and music series titled “Literary Salon: Ambassadors of Russian Culture.” The event was focused on outstanding writer and poet Sergei Yesenin.
Run by GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia in collaboration with the Vladimir Dahl Russian State Literary Museum, the project aims to showcase the beauty of the Russian language and broaden cultural and humanitarian ties.

As the permanent Salon host, Director of the Vladimir Dahl Russian State Literary Museum, Dmitry Bak talked about Sergei Yesenin's turbulent fate, his eventful and tragic life and the permanent mark he has left on the Russian and world literature.
The culture program on offer was rich and varied. Nikita Stolyarov, performer from the Mayakovsky Theater in Moscow, read some of Yesenin's famous poems: “Oh, fields, fields, fields” and “Hail, my dear Rus...”
Oleg Pogudin, People's Artist of Russia, sang songs with lyrics by Sergei Yesenin, accompanied expertly by guitarist Mikhail Rodyukevich.
According to the tradition, the entrance hall of the House of Reception offered a thematic exhibition sourced from the Vladimir Dahl Museum’s holdings to highlight the Sergei Yesenin's life.
Visitors were also presented with the poet's bust created by sculptor Grigory Pototsky.
The Literary Salon: Ambassadors of Russian Culture education and culture project, organized by GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia in partnership with the Vladimir Dahl Russian State Literary Museum, introduces members of foreign diplomatic corps to the heritage of Russian literary personalities. Meetings focused on Fyodor Tyutchev, Alexander Griboyedov, Alexander Pushkin, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Ivan Turgenev have taken place since 2023.
