Press release on Romanian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Vasile Soare’s visit to GlavUpDK

Head of GlavUpDK Alexei Urievich Izotov met with Romanian ambassador Vasile Soare at GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia.

The parties discussed different aspects of cooperation between the diplomatic mission and GlavUpDK, including the possibilities of premises renting for the Romanian Cultural Institute by the embassy. The decision on the Institute’s establishment was taken on the basis of the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Establishment and Conditions of Operation of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Bucharest and the Romanian Cultural Institute in Moscow signed on 9 June 2013.

In the course of the meeting the two parties discussed the issue of preparations for the 140^th anniversary of the diplomatic relations’ establishment between Russia and Romania.  In particular, the ambassador requested assistance in searching for archive materials related to the history of bilateral relations and the former building of the Romanian embassy in Moscow.
