New Year's Eve Reception for Consuls General Accredited in Moscow and Heads of Embassies’ Consular Services

On December 6, 2016 the Cultural Center of GlavUpDK under the Russian Foreign Ministry hosted its traditional New Year's Eve reception for the heads of accredited in Moscow consular offices. The event was organized by the Foreign Ministry Consular Department and GlavUpDK.

On behalf of the Consular Department, its deputy director A.A. Noskov welcomed the guests. He said representatives of the consular corps make a tangible contribution to establishing contacts and strengthening friendship between Russia and the countries, which they represent and wished his foreign colleagues success in their noble and very emotionally-consuming work in the forthcoming year.

GlavUpDK Acting Head Aleksei Izotov stressed in his welcoming address that the Main Administration is always ready to render all possible assistance to representatives of the consular corps to ensure the most comfortable living and working environment in the Russian capital. Izotov warmly congratulated the guests on the forthcoming New Year and Christmas holidays and wished consuls and their families happiness, peace and wellbeing in the new year.

The performance of the Moscow State Academic Theater of Dance Gzhel became the gem of the night. This ensemble has been safeguarding and keeping traditions of Russian national choreography for 30 years, using its elements in dancing miniatures inspired by such famous national crafts as Gzhel, Palekh, Zhostovo, Pavlovsky Posad. From the very first moves, the performers won the hearts of the audience with Russian, Serbian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Polish dances and were greeted with bursts of applause at the end.
