Moscow Country Club, Russia’s best golf hotel according to World Golf Award

The winners of the World Golf Award 2017 have been announced. The Moscow Country Club, an affiliate of GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia, won the best golf hotel nomination.

The World Golf Award annually appraises the quality of service provided by golf clubs across the world. The award ceremony has taken place for the fourth time in the context of the principal international contest of tourism industry achievements, World Travel Awards, founded 24 years ago.

Award experts named world and local winners in the ballot, which took place from March 14 to October 1, 2017. The Moscow Country Club was recognized as the best golf hotel of Russia.

The Moscow Country Club in Nakhabino, the Moscow region, is a beloved holiday destination of the diplomatic corps. The protected nature area of over 120 hectares accommodates a respectable hotel, a sports complex, a golf club, and countryside residences – 60 cottages and 14 townhouses for rent. Russia’s oldest golf club, the Moscow Country Club, is famous for its professional 18-hole field built by the exclusive design of the Trent Jones dynasty of U.S. golf field architects. The club currently has 480 permanent members. Not any other Russian golf club has so many active players.

The Moscow Country Club hosted 69 tournaments, including the Moscow Mayor’s Cup and the MGIMO Rector’s Cup, in 2017. The International Charity Tournament, which unites hundreds of caring people and raises funds to support sick children, was held at the club for the 22nd time this year.

Preparations for the next season, during which the Moscow Country Club will play host to a key stage of the European Senior Tour, the Russian Open Golf Championship (Senior) with a $1-million prize fund, are about to begin.
