The 4th MGIMO rector’s golf cup, dedicated to the university’s 75th anniversary, took place at the Moscow Country Club (an affiliate of GlavUpDK under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation).
Alexandr Zhukov, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, gave a speech at the opening ceremony.
Friends and partners of MGIMO, representatives of the state and business, foreign diplomats and alumni of the university played on the Nakhabino course. Overall more than 70 golf players took part in the tournament.
Several competitions were held within the tournament: the rector’s competition, the competitions among diplomats, the alumni, the open competition, the competitions among the students and the women etc. There were three winners at every competition. Deputy Head of GlavUpDK under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Mikhailov awarded the winners of the diplomat’s competition.
Guests of the Moscow Country Club also took part in the debate club sessions as well as in workshops on strategic marketing, risk management and practice of managing the market risks, played chess with Ernesto Inarkiev, grandmaster and the 2016 European champion.
During the Lyceum Veranda, graduates of the Gorchakov Lyceum met MGIMO rector Anatoliy Torkunov. A golf lesson was organized for the children.
A reception on behalf of the University’s rector concluded the celebration program at the Moscow Country Club.
