This year, GlavUpDK, a branch of GlavUpDK, Zavidovo recreation complex located in Tver region, celebrates 65 years since its foundation. On the occasion of this memorable date, GlavUpDK together with the Russian Academy of Arts announce a nationwide competition to develop an architectural concept for the design of a stele on the territory of the country recreation complex.
The best work of the competition will form the basis for creation of a unique architectural art object, which will greet the guests of Zavidovo right after the entrance to its territory. The winner of the competition will be awarded a monetary prize and will be entitled to participate in the project. The second and third place winners are awarded with diplomas.
The works submitted for the competition will be evaluated by a jury chaired by Academician Alexander Tsigal, a member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts (RAA). The panel includes prominent figures in art and culture, including Vice President of the Russian Academy of Arts academician Evgeny Maksimov, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts Viktor Korneev, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts and PhD in art history Aydin Zeinalov, head of the sculpture department at the State Tretyakov Gallery Irina Sedova. From GlavUpDK the jury consisted of Vyacheslav Fatin, Acting Head of the Enterprise, Alexey Ochnev, Chief Architect, and Konstantin Gurnovich, Director of Zavidovo Recreation Complex.
Registration for the competition and the acceptance of bids will start on June 2, 2022. In order to take part in the competition it is necessary to register and submit a bid at arhkonkurs@updk.ru and at the address: Moscow, Prechistenka, 20. Detailed information about the procedure and participation in the competition is in the Regulations.
Participation is free.
Winners will be awarded at the Russian Academy of Arts (21, Prechistenka St., Moscow) on July 15.
