GlavUpDK presents Russian Heritage 2nd issue

The Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps (GlavUpDK) under the MFA of Russia presents the 2nd issue of its RussianHeritage magazine that unites keepers and connoisseurs of the richest cultural and historical heritage of our country.

It is no coincidence that its cover features the captivating landscape of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin as the central theme of the issue is the National Unity Day, which our country has been celebrating for 20 years in its contemporary history. On this occasion, the magazine’s editor-in-chief Vladimir Khutarev-Garnishevsky, PhD in History, Associate Professor at the Moscow State Institute of Culture, spoke about the feat of the people’s militia led by Minin and Pozharsky, which originated in Nizhny Novgorod.

The issue has been created by professionals who are passionate about what they do — cultural experts, journalists, historians, researchers, and local history experts — and who exercise their vocation with love and respect. Its contributors also discuss the diplomatic episodes of Alexander Pushkin’s biography, delve into the fate of the first Russian chocolatier, and examine the role of volunteering in preserving cultural heritage sites, and lots of other remarkable articles.

You will also meet GlavUpDK old friends and partners, namely the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, the State Museum of the History of Russian Literature named after V. I. Dal, and the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum.

And, of course, the theme of architecture and preservation of cultural heritage sites, which is close to GlavUpDK, is widely represented on its pages as the issue focuses on the work of Russian architect Lev Kekushev.
